This Cookie Policy explains how RateMyPay uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit or use our website, platform, applications, and related online services.
This Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which provides additional information about how RateMyPay collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information.
By using RateMyPay, you may encounter cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the operation of the service. Where required by applicable law, we will request your consent before placing or using non-essential cookies or similar tracking technologies.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites place on a user’s browser or device.
They allow a website to recognize a browser or device and may store information about a user’s preferences, activity, or session.
Cookies can be used for purposes such as keeping users signed in, remembering preferences, maintaining security, understanding how a website is used, improving website performance, measuring the effectiveness of marketing, and providing more relevant content.
Cookies may remain on your device for different periods of time. Some are deleted when you close your browser, while others remain until they expire or are deleted.
2. What Are Similar Technologies?
RateMyPay may also use technologies that function similarly to cookies. These may include web beacons, pixels, tracking tags, software development kits, browser storage, local storage, session storage, device identifiers, analytics technologies, and similar technologies.
These technologies may collect or store information about how you interact with RateMyPay.
For simplicity, we refer to all of these technologies as “cookies” in this Policy unless otherwise stated.

Remembering Preferences
Cookies may allow RateMyPay to remember choices such as:
- language;

- limit repeated advertisements;
- understand campaign performance; and
- deliver more relevant advertising.
RateMyPay will not use non-essential marketing or advertising cookies where applicable law requires consent unless that consent has been obtained.

Users may still be able to block them through browser settings, but doing so may prevent portions of RateMyPay from functioning correctly.
4.2 Functional Cookies
Functional cookies allow RateMyPay to remember user choices and provide enhanced functionality. These may include preferences relating to:
- language;
- location;

7. Cookie Consent
Where required by applicable law, RateMyPay will request consent before placing non-essential cookies on your device.
Our cookie banner gives you meaningful choices: Accept All, Reject Non-Essential Cookies, or Manage Preferences.
Rejecting non-essential cookies is as easy as accepting them. We do not obtain consent through misleading or manipulative interface design.
8. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You may manage your cookie preferences at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer of every RateMyPay page, or the button below.
The preference centre allows you to enable or disable categories of non-essential cookies. Strictly Necessary cookies remain active because they are genuinely required for the service to function.
Changing your preferences will not necessarily delete cookies that have already been stored on your device. You may need to delete existing cookies through your browser settings.
9. Browser Controls
Most browsers allow you to view stored cookies, delete cookies, block cookies, block third-party cookies, receive warnings before cookies are stored, or configure other privacy preferences.
The exact controls depend on the browser and device you use. Blocking all cookies may affect RateMyPay functionality, including sign-in, saved preferences, and certain transactions.
10. Global Privacy Control
Certain browsers and browser extensions allow users to send a Global Privacy Control, or GPC, signal.
GPC can communicate a user’s preference to opt out of certain uses of personal information, including sale or sharing for targeted advertising where applicable.
Where RateMyPay is legally required to recognize GPC or another valid universal opt-out mechanism, we will process that signal in accordance with applicable law.
11. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
RateMyPay does not intend to operate as a data broker or to sell personal information as a standalone business model.
However, certain U.S. privacy laws define terms such as “sale” and “sharing” more broadly than an ordinary exchange of information for money. Some advertising and cross-site tracking arrangements may constitute a sale or sharing under applicable state privacy law.
If RateMyPay engages in activities that are legally considered the sale or sharing of personal information, we will provide any notices and opt-out mechanisms required by applicable law. This may include a link such as “Your Privacy Choices” or “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” where required.
12. Targeted Advertising
If RateMyPay uses personal information for targeted advertising, users in jurisdictions that provide an opt-out right may exercise that right through the methods made available by RateMyPay.
These may include cookie preference controls, a privacy choices page, browser-based universal opt-out signals, or another mechanism required by law.
13. Analytics Providers
RateMyPay may use third-party analytics providers to understand website and product usage.
These services may collect information such as pages visited, session duration, clicks, device information, browser information, approximate geographic information, referring websites, and interaction patterns.
RateMyPay does not currently use any third-party analytics providers. If that changes, we will name each provider in this section.
14. Advertising Providers
If RateMyPay uses advertising platforms, those providers may use cookies or similar technologies to measure campaign performance or deliver advertising.
Potential categories may include search advertising, social-media advertising, professional-network advertising, retargeting, conversion measurement, and audience measurement.
RateMyPay does not currently use any advertising providers. If that changes, we will name each provider in this section.
15. Authentication and Security Providers
RateMyPay may use authentication or security providers that place necessary cookies.
These cookies may assist with account authentication, multi-factor authentication, bot detection, fraud prevention, session management, and security.
Because these technologies may be necessary for RateMyPay to operate securely, some may be classified as strictly necessary.
16. Payment Providers
If RateMyPay offers paid services, payment providers may place cookies or similar technologies to process payments, prevent fraud, authenticate transactions, maintain transaction security, and comply with legal obligations.
Payment providers may operate under their own privacy and cookie policies.
17. Email and Newsletter Technologies
If you subscribe to RateMyPay communications, our email service provider may use tracking technologies in emails.
These technologies may provide information such as whether an email was delivered, whether an email was opened, whether a link was clicked, device type, and related engagement information.
Where required by law, RateMyPay will obtain appropriate consent for marketing communications. Users may unsubscribe using the link contained in the communication.
18. Data Collected Through Cookies
Depending on the technology used, cookies may collect information such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, language, approximate geographic location, session identifiers, account identifiers, referring website, pages viewed, links clicked, timestamps, website interactions, advertising identifiers, cookie identifiers, and preference information.
Some of this information may constitute personal information or personal data under applicable privacy law. Our handling of personal information is described in the RateMyPay Privacy Policy.
19. International Processing
Some cookie, analytics, hosting, advertising, or technology providers may process information outside the country or province where you live.
For example, information collected in Canada may be processed in the United States or another jurisdiction. Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.
For further information regarding international data processing, please review the RateMyPay Privacy Policy.
20. How Long Cookies Remain
The length of time a cookie remains on your device depends on the cookie.
Session cookies normally expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for a defined period or until you delete them.
RateMyPay seeks to configure cookie retention periods so that they are appropriate for the purpose for which the cookie is used. The duration of each cookie is listed in Section 6.
21. Changes to This Cookie Policy
RateMyPay may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect new technologies, service providers, changes to RateMyPay, changes to our use of cookies, new legal requirements, or changes to our privacy practices.
The Last Updated date at the top of this Policy will indicate when the Policy was most recently revised.
Where required by law, we may provide additional notice or obtain renewed consent.
